Return to Rattlesden
in February
I made a long overdue visit to Rattlesden, England, to visit
the airfield where my grandfather Loran Heeb was stationed
during WWII. Loran (back row, third from left) was crew
chief an Flight Engineer for the B-17 Ol'
Scrapiron
and flew 30 missions in 1944, including two sorties on
D-Day. It was with much pride in my grandfather's service
that I chose name this company after the airfield he called
home during that period, and I designed the logo to mimic
the Flying Fortress' familiar shape with the yellow tail, green
stripes and "Square K" being the markings of his 447th BG.

For those who are interested, I have posted a
bunch of B-17
photos from my trip to England (just a small portion of
more than 1,200 photos taken at several British museums)
